- Blanca Crispin said, Mr. Harvey was a great counselor, he was my counselor in 1997. I remember him: he was always happy always making jokes, he was always willing to help everyone out, he was never too busy. He will be missed. My condolences to his family
- Clay Kim said, My mom and distant uncle who both went to Laguna knew him... I makes me ache to hear that somebody died, especially people like teachers and students, even if I never knew them. And just by reading the comments above, I can tell that he was a great person. Please rest in peace, Mr. Harvey.
- Cheryl Haymes said, I have known Bill for many years now. When I think of Laguna, I think of Bill. As a counselor he was fantasic. Every student knew where they stood with him. He made them responsible for their actions and he always praised them. I always loved when he was the counselor of the seventh graders because I knew if any of my students were struggling or had a disipline matter that Bill would take care of it. He was a wonderful Basketball coach and then later on the Athletic Director. When I was
- Val Wright said, Bill and I shared our enthusiasm for athletics and students. Bill Harvey cared about students. He remembered every name and every detail of the students he guided. He coached life. He taught persistence. He counseled the troubled and guided toward the future of every young mind he touched. Bill Harvey saw education as a shared responsibility where administration, staff, parent, and student had to work together. I will deeply miss this man who mentored me. I will miss the debates we had (that were often meaningless to no one but us) and the jokes he had to tell me. Laguna
- Vinetta Negranti said, I remember Bill from waaaaay back. I taught with him at the old San Luis Junior High when I taught at the Junior High and the Senior High. I will remember him as the best "name rememberer" I ever knew. We would talk about some student from long ago and Bill could always come up with the name and even the whole family! He had such incredible ties to the community! Everyone knew who knew Bill knows how student-oriented he always was. Often, he would start a conference with, "What can we do for
- Brian Yoon said, When i was in 7th grade, Mr. Harvey gave me a candy every single time when i got an"A" on my test. I can still remember his smile and kindness for everybody. He was the most friendly teacher and i will never forget about him. Mr.Harvey, now rest in the peace.
- Helen Reynolds said, I happened to click on the Laguna website only to be shocked and saddened by the announcement of Bill Harvey's death. Bill was ever the gentleman, caring counselor, and loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Laguna Middle School. His door was always open to students and teachers alike, ready to listen, offer advice and good cheer. He made an enormous difference in the lives of many of my students, going the extra mile to encourage, assist and counsel those in greatest
- Shelby Faccinto said, Mr. Harvey was probably the coolest guy around when i was a seventh grader, and i will miss being able to see him in the weight room, and around school. R.I.P. MR. Harvey.....WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!
- Eli Kukol said, I didn't know his name, but he was very nice to me. He held the door open for me one day,and I did the same for the rest of the times I saw him. I think it is so great that he cares about 7th (like me) and 8th grade students. R.I.P.
- Peter Saxby said, Bill seemed so happy coming in to volunteer these last few years at Laguna. His enthusiasm embraced all aspects of life, tidbits from the news and sports, politics, family, community, everything. I’d chat with him 2-3 times a week when he came in during our lunch to share that enthusiasm with all of us and especially with struggling students. I think that no-nonsense way of running a meeting, that skill he had at scheduling, and coaching, and counseling and teaching sprang from that enthusiasm and positive attitude. Bill helped people believe in themselves. He would
