The History of Jim Crows

The laws of Jim Crow had just began after the civil war when unslaved blacks had been thrown out of there  Churches and school that and had to be separate from the whites. Laws had also came about which were mostly effected in the southern states, these laws were called black codes. These had came about in 1865-1867 laws the unslaved african americans that were mostly took effect in the south at the end of Civil War. This had apprenticeships laws to bind the freedom to the land, which had limited their personal freedom and relegating them to a status similar to serfs in eastern europe. The codes also energized the drive for the 14th and 15th amendments to the U.s constitution, extending citizenship's to all african americans and suffrage to black males.
The jim crow laws were just more laws and detours blacks had to go by if not they would suffer consequences such as life and death. The Laws were mostly made for racial reasons to separate african americans from whites, such as school, drinking fountains and resturants. Starting  in the 1860's and early 1870's , they had came about of all- Black colleges.  meaning blacks had very limited time to get a great education before they came about of black colleges in southern part of the United States.
Going back to the Jim Crow laws it was very had for blacks to survive the Laws. Most southern blacks tried to to separate themselves from the white but it was hard because there was limited of  everything. But by a Man named W.E.B Du Bois was a terror in Jim Crows eyes, which Du Bois was forced to live "behide the veil".. He was the first African american to receive a Ph.D from Harvad, which still is a school till today. William Edward Burghardt Du Bois had died but when he did he not only left the area of civil rights  but also in history and sociology.
