Jeffs home town was vallejo, California When he was very young when
is mother divorced his father and married John Brick Ford. John got
Jeff his first BMX bike when he was four years old he had racing
in his blood ever since jeff was fearless at racing BMX bikes and
loved racing. John bought Jeff a quarter midget car that are designed
to race on dirt tracks. They don't go very fast but provide more
protection than racing BMX bikes. The midgets have seat belts,shoulder
harness, and a roll bar. He became a real race-car driver at 5 years
old. Jeff then moved on to racing go-carts,which were faster than
quater midgets. He won his first 25 go-carts races, At the
age of fourteen he started to race sprint cars. He won his first
sprint car race he ever competed at the KC speedway in Chillecothe, Ohio.
In 1991 Jeff won the USAC sprint car championship when he was Twenty years
old. He was wanting to race stock cars but was Thought to be
to young and inexperienced. He went to NASCAR racing school.
He proved that he could drive stock cars and completed in the last 3 races
of the 1990 bush series. In 1992, Jeff signed
on with Rick Hendricks Motorsports, Who was Jeff's sponsor. He
now had a crew chief, Robbie Loomis, and a team manager, Brian Witsell
