There isn't really a specific strategy in hockey when both teams have full strenth, but there are a lot of strategies for when you have a one or two man advantage. A good power play strategy ( when one team 4 has and the other has 3 ) for the offence is to make a diamond. O:ne guy should be at the point ( the top of the diamond ), another should be in front of the net, and the other two should be across from each other and make up the other parts of the diamond. The three players on the top of the diamond should pass to each other until they can get a shot off. The strategy for the defense ( the team with three ) is to try to stop the offence from getting a shot off. The defences shape is more like a triangle and they just try to delay and waste time until the penalty is over. The only time that a defender should try to take the is if one of the offencive players makes a bad pass, then that is the only time that the defenders should try to take the puck.
