The movie really began when Frank talks to Donnie and makes him walk outside to a golf course when he sais how many days, hours, minutes and seconds untill the world ends. The next important scene is when Donnie is in the classroom and then Gretchen comes in to the  room and sits next to Donnie. This is the first time that both of them meet.
