On a Saturday night where is your teenager? Is she or he studying for the big test next Monday? Or is your teenager out at the "mall" with their friends? Is she at a friend's house having fun at a sleepover? These are all possibilitis, but sometimes behind parents backs, they do different than what they say. They could say: "Mom, can I have twenty bucks to go to the new movie that is out at the movie theatre?" You think for a second, and then respond, "Here you go, buy yourself some popcorn too." "Thanks mom!" She responds. So you just assume that she is at the movies an hour later using the money for tickets and some popcorn. But what if your teenager went somewhere different, wouldn't you want to know? It is ten o' clock at night, and her curfew is 9:30. You are worried, wouldn't you want to call? Many parents would. So you call, and she says she totally lost track of time, and she comes home ten minutes later. If she didn't have a cell phone, you could have been worrying for a lot longer. I would have to say that a cell phone can be extremely useful.
