Boogie Boarding

Boogie boarding is a distant relative of surfing. It does not have any fins on it to keep it level. It is smaller than a surf board.  It is about four feet long and three feet long. They aren't meant for big waves that sufers go on. When a medium size wave starts to comes along you have to wait until it is right about to break. When it is about to break jump onto your boogie board and ride the top of it. Most of the time you will end up falling of the board and under the very salty water. It takes a lot of skill to boogie board without falling off and going on the waves that surfers go on. I've never seen someone personally go on a large wave but I've seen a lot of pictures that are on the net that are of people on boogie boards on large waves. So boogie boarding is sometimes frusterating because you have to wait for a good size wave to come and when you finally get one there is about a 3 out of 5 chance that you will ride it smoothly because boogie boards don't have any balancing fins on them. But professional riders can get fins attached to their boogie boards but it costs a lot but is worth it because you go a lot faster and smoother. So boogie is a fun sport.
