Skateboarding was invented in about the 1950's. It was invented by surfers who wanted to be able to surf on the streets. Many people all over the world came up with skateboarding at about the same time. They started with wooden boards with wheels stuck to the bottom. My dad told me that when he was a boy that him and his friends would build there own skateboards because they weren't sold back then. Today, skateboarding is a sport that many people do all the time. It is becoming more and more popular all the time. Professional skateboarders can make over one-thoasand to ten-thousand a month. To get paid for skateboarding, you earn money from what you win in contests, your sponsorships, and some skateboarders have regular jobs as well. Most skateboarders don't train in any usual sense of the word, and they don't even think about their diet. Skaters just do what they love to do: skate, all the time. Skateboarding is fun, and when having fun is the goal, it never seems like training.
