Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that is unpredictable. Multiple Sclerosis can be relatively benign to being very devastating. Multiple Sclerosis disrupts the communication between the brain and the many other parts of the body. Many doctors of investigators have belief that Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the body, through its immune system, launches a defense attack against its own tissues.
What are the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis?
The initial symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis are often blurred or double
vision, red-green color distortion, or even blindness in one eye. Also
many patients experience muscle weakness and difficulty with coordination
and balance. Some of these symptoms are severe enough to impair walking
or standing. If Multiple Sclerosis was to a point where it was at its worst
it could even produce partial or complete paralization. Some have
felt numbness and tingling in parts of the body. Some also can experience
prickling almost as if a needle is poking them. Some have difficulties
with concentration, memory, judgment, but they vary rarely happen. Occasionally
people get hearing loss.
