What is Multiple Sclerosis?

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that is unpredictable. Multiple Sclerosis can be relatively benign to being very devastating. Multiple Sclerosis disrupts the communication between the brain and the many other parts of the body. Many doctors of investigators have belief that Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the body, through its immune system, launches a defense attack against its own tissues.

What are the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis?
The initial symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis are often blurred or double vision, red-green color distortion, or even blindness in one eye. Also many patients experience muscle weakness and difficulty with coordination and balance. Some of these symptoms are severe enough to impair walking or standing. If Multiple Sclerosis was to a point where it was at its worst it could even produce partial or complete paralization.  Some have felt numbness and tingling in parts of the body.  Some also can experience prickling almost as if a needle is poking them. Some have difficulties  with concentration, memory, judgment, but they vary rarely happen. Occasionally people get hearing loss.
