Galveston, Texas
Galvaston
is one of my favorite cities of all time. I just love the mild weather
and ocean breeze of it. It just so beautiful! Galvaston, Texas was charted
in 1839 as the principle port and gateway of the Southwest. The city supplied
many things including money, edible goods, and transportation necessary
to the state. Back in 1836, Galveston, Texas was a major immigrant port
for a quarter million Europeans. This populated Galveston even more which
helped there economy.
Nowadays, Galveston is
doing quite well in the upper Texas coast of the Gulf of Mexico and occupies
pretty much all of the population of the 32 mile long island which is located
about 2 miles off of the Texas mainland. Its economy supports Galveston
very much, and I hope it always does.
