The surfing that I saw at Galveston was most definitely
not like the guy below. This surfer is incredibly boring and would put
anybody to sleep. He of course wouldn't surf in a competition either. The
surfers that I saw were more like the guy below the boring surfer. They
rocked!

I, myself, am not that good at surfing. I learned
how when I was 10, but only do it rarely, and still suck hard at it. So
I guess I can't really be mean to the boring surfer because I bet I'm just
as good as him. Some great surfers in my opinion are: Rob
Machado, Kelly Slater, etc. But these guys didn't invent the
amazing sport of surfing, it was invented long before their time. By legend,
it is said that Polynesians from Tahiti and Hawaii were the first to experience
the amazing sport of gliding on unbroken sea waves on planks of wood. Captain
James Cook was the first observer of this past time in the 1770's. He brought
it to missionaries who resulted in making surfing an official sport. In
1915 Olympic champion of surfing, Duke Kahanamoku introduced the wonderful
sport to Australia and America. The sport of surfing spread across Europe
as well, and then permeated across the world. Now, surfing is a most wonderful
sport that most everyone loves to do and watch. I hope surfing stays forever
and ever!
