A Day In Daniel's Life
It was the 8th day of February 2003. I wasn't
feeling very well but I was very excited because I was on the way to sierra
summit. I didn't feel very well, I thought that this was because of
all of the curves in mountain roads so I ignored the feeling completely.
As my mom and I got higher in elevation I felt worse and worse until we
got to the lodge where you get your key for a cabin. By this time I was
feeling very happy because I had not been to the snow in 3 years.
My mom and I pulled up to our cabin two minutes later, the cabin looked like all of the other cabins I had seen from the front of it but as soon as I walked in I found that they were not like the old cabins but in fact they looked as if you were renting some millionaires get away home. It had a fully furnished dinning room, kitchen a living room with a big couch, a lounge chair, a fire place, and a futon with a fleece blanket on top, best of all there was a sixty two inch wide screen TV and a DVD player. downstairs there was two bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the master bedroom there was a smaller TV and another DVD player. I thought I was in heaven because it was so nice and because I knew that driving my RC car on the ice would be a lot of fun, at least enough to keep me occupied over the weekend.
I went to the car and unpacked it with my mom helping
me. When I had finished I pulled out a RC car
and charged up the battery, in doing so I thought to myself, "boy this
is going to be a lot of fun trying to drive this car on the ice." When
it was done I put it on the ice and started going, I walked with it up
to the sheet of ice on the road and put the throttle on the car wide open,
the car started to spin in all directions out of control. It was going
in all direction on the ice, left, right, forward, backward and sideways.
I slowly figured out how to drive it on the ice. give the least amount
of throttle until it got to jogging speed then slowly increase the throttle
slowly to full, but don't try to turn otherwise it will go strait for two
seconds then it will suddenly get grip and slide sideways uncontrollably
until it hits something. This was really fun because it was a challenge
to get it going as fast as possible and stop, plus it was plain fun driving
a RC car. Every time someone drove by me the just
stopped and starred at me driving the RC on the ice. It kept my mind off
of feeling bad. I did this until it got dark out and I felt that I had
a lot of fun. I was satisfied so I charged the car again and drove it on
he ice until the battery got low and then I went back inside to watch TV
and drive the car on the hardwood floor, do burn outs and make it spin
in circles like a pinwheel.
