My Dog’s Perspective

You are now entering my life. Yawn. "I’m tired. I’m hungry. I’m tired." The one they call Alice walked past me, not paying any attention to me at all. Then she opened the cabinet. "Food!" I thought. I ran over to the cabinet and pushed Alice aside and started nudging around in it with my nose. "Ba shga mi tu ba Tobler, ggog bik!" she screamed. I can never understand these people but usually that means I’m being bad and I should go away. I backed away slowly. "Bik shikle Tobler, bok foo," she stated. I walked over to the glass door to lay in the sun. It was warm and wonderful. Someone rang the door bell. "Food!" I thought. I ran to the door in excitement. Alice opened it and I immediately tried to slip through it so I could happily greet the person in case they had food, but Alice grabbed my collar and greeted the visitor for me. She’s so nice. It turns out that the visitor didn’t have food. Oh well. I went to lay in the sun again.
Then the one they call John came home, greeted my and them pretty much ignored me after that. He sat down with a bowl of ice cream. He’s a very boring person. "Wait a minute," I thought "Food!" I ran at full speed towards his general area and jumped onto the table with much grace. I slid a little and then dug my face into the ice cream. Yum! "Bofo a shikle tickin fwager dupkins!" He yelled with passion. "Bik shikle Tobler, bok foo. " Once again I didn’t understand. The only thing I have ever understood is my name, Tobler. They really only say it when they’re mad at me though. When they’re not mad at me they normally say "go foo." In the past I’ve tried to translate some of the most common words they say but when they put them together in sentences they don’t make sense. For example, I thought "Bik" ment big, and "foo" meant leaf but that didn’t work too well. I guess I’ll never find out what they’re trying to say. Never.
Then Jane came home, "Yay," she is the nicest one of them all she quickly greeted me with great enthusiasm. "shuga mik base hastelto bulvoc cheal," she said in a babyish voice. She opened the cabinet and found some chocolate. "Food!" I ran up to her and she gave me some!" Who knew a 16 year old could be so nice? I chomped down on my chocolate and then went into my crate for a nice sleep.
I woke up to the sound of the garage door. Dave! He is the one that feeds me, and takes me for walks, and feeds me and picks up the you-know-what after he feeds me! I ran at him and made a flying leap. Of course he fell down due to all of the heavy items he was carrying, (which didn’t contain food, I checked) but he didn’t seem to mind. He greeted me like all of the rest of them and then fed me! Yum, kibble, I love kibble. I ate and then went to sleep for the night. Just to let you know, I dreamt about food. The next morning, I woke up peacefully. Dave fed me, yum, then took my for a wonderful walk around the block. When we got home everyone left for school and work and left me at home all alone, lock in my crate. Then the day went on like any other one would. You are now exiting my life.
