My Big Move.
By: Jahshua Moore
One day I came home from school
and my mom was packing up her stuff and I
thought that she was leaving to
go live somewhere else. But then she told me to
pack up my stuff because we were
going to move to Missouri.
I heard that Missouri is a fun
place, and that it snows there to. I was so excited
that I packed all my stuff so fast
that my mom thought that I would get asthma.
I had never even touched snow before.
We left early on saterday and got out of
Tulare in one hour.
We were driving for hours. We saw
cool stuff like barns, horses, cows, sheep,
crop dusters,
and Cafes with spaceships on top of them. We slept in the car.It
was a long trip. It took at least
five weeks! When we finaly got to Missouri
it had been five weeks. The rumors
were right, Missouri is beautiful!
My step-dad had already bought
a Ranch and some animals. When we
got to our ranch I went to my room
and started to unpack my stuff.
We bought some Labradors
on the way. I named mine Barker because
he barks a lot. He is a Blond Lab,
another one is a Chocolate Lab,
and the other one is a Black Lab.
The Chocolate Labs name is
Nick, and the Black Labs name is
Rosy.
The rest of the day I played with
Barker and Nick and Rosy in
the front yard. That night I took
barker into my room and went
to sleep. I woke up early that
morning to go hunting and fishing.
We have a giant pond, and thirteen
acres to hunt on.
I took Barker with me and we went
into the woods.
It was dark in the woods because
it was still early in the
morning. It was chilly in there
and I had to take a flashlight.
Barker was a good hunting dog,
so we found some bucks
fast. I had a big one in sight,
I raised my riffle, aimed it,
and took the shot. I hit it in
the heart, it was down.
I ran over to it to see if it was
still alive, it wasn't.
I draged it back to my house and
woke up my step-
dad. He said it was an eight point
buck. We had it
for dinner. I was so happy, and
my mom was very proud
of me. I said that it was Barker
who found it. I gave him
some deer to. Later that day me
and Barker went down
to the pond and went fishing. It
was getting dark and
we didn't even get a bite. It was
almost eight pm.
All of a sudden my pool jerked
and was moving
all around in the pond. I started
to whreel it in,
it seemed like it was at least
a 12 pound Bass! I
got so excited that I almost broke
my line! When I
whreeled it in I was so embarassed!
It was just a
3 pound catfish! I took everything
up to the house and
washed for dinner. That night we
had chicken and
brocoli and cheese. After dinner
we all went to the den
and watched South
Park. That is our favorite show.
I went to bed at 10:00 pm. that
night. I woke up early
again that morning. I went outside
and got to work on
the weeds. The weeds were at least
17 feet high! I
grabed the machete
and started to make a path from
the stables to the middle, then
I chopped a big circle
in the middle so the people outside
could not see me,
then I took the thick weeds and
tied them together
to the shape of a door and made
it into a door.
Then I made a clearing in the middle
so the weeds
were not on the the floor, then
I made a secret
exit and made sure that nobody
knew were it was.
Then I put in two chairs, one on
each side, then
I put in a sofa that covers up
the way to the secret
exit. Then I was finished. Time
flew day after day,
week after week,month after month,
and year after
year. When I was 15 my mom was packing
up her stuff
again and said we were going to
move back to Tulary.
I said,"Here we go again!
