5 Things to Keep

One day I was sitting on my couch watching TV when I heard a knock at the door.  I got up and looked through the peep hole.  Standing outside were 4 men all dressed in black suits.  I wondered who this could be that would come all dressed up like that.  I then remembered that I hadn't paid any of my taxes for nearly 2 years., when I remembered that right away I knew it was the IRS.  When I remembered that I started to get nervous.  I opened the door and peeked my head in the crack. I asked them what they wanted.  They said they needed to come in and then they smacked the door open.  They grabbed me and sat me down.  They said, "Sir, we are the IRS, do you realize it has been nearly two years since you last paid your bills and taxes?"
I answered, "No."  Even though I really knew it had been two years since I had paid any of my bills and taxes.  They said they were going to need to take everything I had to pay off all the bills.  They said I could only keep 5 things, and with the extra money I got from selling everything they would give me a small apartment and the rest to me for food.  I couldn't believe what I had just heard.  I mean they were going to take everything I ever had except for 5 things.  I was dumbfounded.  They said everything was going to be gone by the end of the week so they asked me to make a decision about the things I wanted to keep by tomorrow, so they knew not to take it.  I was going to have to think long and hard about what I wanted to keep.  I was lucky I didn't have any pets or anything to worry about.  The first thing I thought about that I knew I was going to want was my bed.  The second thing I was going to keep was my TV.  I don't think I could go a day without watching TV.  If I was going to keep my TV I might as well keep my XBOX and PLAY STATION 2.

That left me only one thing to keep.  After a long thought I finally decided that I was going keep, my computer.
When they arrived the next day, the first thing they asked me was if I had decided what I was going to keep.  I told them the stuff I was going to keep and they agreed that it would be okay for me to keep those things.  They said I had to be out of my house by Thursday.  It was Tuesday.  That gave me only two days to get out of my house.  I mean this was very weird for me thinking that it was only yesterday that I was sitting on my couch watching TV not worrying about a thing, and now I had to be out in two days.
When I woke up on Thursday the movers had arrived and were taking out the final things.  They grabbed my 5 things and took them to my apartment which I hadn't even seen yet.  The 4 men got to my house and told me they were going to take me to my apartment.  They drove me there and dropped me off.  They said they would contact me when my stuff and house were sold and they said they would also give me the extra money that wasn't needed to pay off the bills.  I agreed to that and said good-bye.  I walked into my apartment and a whole new world.  The first thing I did was arrange everything and get everything set up.  I looked around, and agreed that it looked good.  I walked into my bedroom, jumped on the bed, and went straight to sleep.
