"Math Drools English Rules"
"Too
much agreement kills a chat" Edridge Cleaver
Objectives and subjective, and apples and oranges. Math and English are
two different things you can’t compare them they both have a positive and
negative side to them. They will both help us with what ever career we
decide on. And underneath it all they do have some good.
Let’s start with the bad and get it out of our systems. Math is a very
objective or one sided 2+2=4. The math only gets harder and harder and
it is not very fun. You always have to show your work and you have to have
neat hand writing to be able to write a problem. Yet English you have to
read, write, spell, write, and write. You also have to memorize things
and be extra precautious. Also like math spelling is very objective you
can only spell a word one way. A-g-r-e-e-m-e-n-t. Also all the test we
have to take every week and the vocabulary. They both are equally as bad
yet they are equally as important.
When I plan to get older I plan to be an engineer minor and a teaching
and a major in Agriculture science. I will
need to have a strong math background if I want to do any thing with the
engineering, also in English for commercial and communications. If I want
to be a teacher than I will need a strong English background because I
don’t want to walk in and say hey hous yous doin? And I want to do Agriculture
science I would need both for communications and prophet.
Now I know it is hard to believe that math and English have some good sides.
For one math with out it how would we have ever gotten to the moon, or
have or beloved xbox or what have you or your computer
that we need so much. You can thank the Egyptians
for the art of math. And English with out English we wouldn’t have our
favorite sitcoms, or be able to use the internet because one persons spelling
is different than yours, or what if you couldn’t even understand your best
friends words because they sound like bla, bla, and bla compared to your
language. We all need both of this subject to be able to have intelligent
conversations with people or just to under stand someone on TV that was
made possible by math and English. The stat of California made a wise chose
making math and English a mandatory subject to pass.
You'd think would it be fun to site at home and have air running through
your head while you sit on the ground and watch flies or the grass grow.
Not for me. English and math are both great subjects and we need them both
extremely bad and we would not of gotten this far with out them we would
all be dead probably. "An education is like a crumbling building that needs
constant up keeping with repairs and additions" Luis
Dudek.
