PEACH COBBLER
I was home alone one night and I heard
a crash by the front door. I ran over and the door was on the ground by
a man.said in a deep voice, "Do you have a cup of salt?" So I went in the
kitchen and got him a cup of salt. Then when I came back there were yellow
peaches dribbling down his mouth. He then took out a can of pea
soup. He held the can in his two hands and swished it back and forth.
He then caught me staring. He looked at me and then the can. He then put
his hand out with the can of pea soup. I took the can. I threw it in the
air. The man then cried, "Bananas, bananas, you are made out of clay!"
I stared at him like he was
peach cobbler. He then finally
left with the can of pea soup and the cup of
salt that I gave to him.
Exactly one year passed and I was home
alone again. I heard a knock at the front door. I answered it and standing
there was a man holding a banana in his hand. But this was no
ordinary banana, no sir! This was a purple banana! He held it up and
kissed it! He then looked at me and smiled. I smiled, a weak smile, back
at him. He then took out a blue orange and threw it at me. I caught it
but almost dropped it. He threw the banana in the air and then looked at
me. I guess that was my cue to throw the orange in the air, so I did. He
then scrunched up his face and started yelling curses.
I got really scared at that time. I started to back up towards my house
while he was staring at a cloud the shape of a coconut. I then closed the
door and locked it. I then realized that I was still holding the blue orange.
I quickly opened the window and threw the orange out the window. I didn't
want to know if it hit him or not. Instead, I closed the window and ran
to my room. I stayed there until my parents got home.
Exactly one year later, I heard a knock
at my door. By now I knew to not answer the door. I just looked out the
window to see who was there. I saw nothing. So I went back to watching
TV. Again, there was another knock at the door. And again no one was there.
I got so mad that I opened the door and yelled, "Leave me alooooooooone!"
Just then I saw my parents. They looked at me
like I was peach cobbler. We went inside and I finally told them about
the strange men that that arrived at the house those years and why I was
screaming. They then said this: "Oh my dear, those men where earth men.
They come here, to mars, once a year. I'm so sorry we left you home alone
on this holiday. I promise that we won't leave you here on this holiday
ever again."
That made me feel so much better. I was
never left home alone on the earth men holiday ever
again. They never came until one day when...
