My New Bike
By: Andrew Federico

It was finally time for me to step up to a bigger dirt bike. Before I got my new bike I was on a little Yamaha YZ80 and it was old so that made it even smaller. My dad and I decide I needed to get a newer and bigger 125cc. On a Saturday when just my dad and I were hangin' out he told me about a guy that works over at San Luis Motorsports, and what kind of a deal he could get us. I then got on my knees and started begging my dad to take me over there and check out the bikes.
When we got there we went straight to Rich the dealmaker. He then
called over the other sales man named Roger over because he was hurt from riding. Roger was the one who showed me all of the 125cc bikes they had in stock. The first bike I sat on was a Kawasaki KX 125cc. I new right away that that was the bike for me. I told Roger what I felt about I and I told him I liked it a lot. He said "Well lets go sit on the Honda CR 125cc." I sat on it and it was a bit tall. I sat around on it and I think it was still to tall for me to ride. Then Roger said "Lets go try the Suzuki RM 125cc." That one was to tall for me to even balance on. So I said "No way!"
Even though that is the bike I had my heart set on. It was then down to the Honda or the Kawasaki. I sat on both of them again and just couldn't tell which one I wanted. So I decided to go with the Kawasaki. Out of the bunch I liked that one the best.
Then we went back to Rich. He did all of the tax calculations and all of the interest calculations and it came out to be $5,773. Then the deal part came. Rich did more calculations and for us it came out to be a grand total of $4773. In the bike bank account we only have $3650. My dad and I looked at each other for a while to decide whether or not to get the bike since we are a little short of cash. The four words I have always wanted to hear came out of my dad's mouth. "We will take it!" The biggest smile jolted across my face and a tear possible might have come out of my eye. I was so exciting.
I was so excited I ran out to see it and sit on it. Then Roger came and took it from me because he said he needed to prep it for me to ride. While my dad filled out the paper work, I went to watch Roger.
Paper work was done, bike was prepped and it was time to hit the dirt. When I got home I just thanked my dad and mom for giving me the greatest gift ever. After that of course I went straight to my bike. I unloaded it and got back on it. It was the greatest felling I have ever had. I figured if I went to bed sooner riding time would come sooner.
The next day we were out at Navaho Flats. It is a ride area in Pozo. It was my first ride on the bike so I hade to brake it in. But I had a blast.
I am sure my bike will give me plenty more good rides to come. I feel so blessed and thankful to have an experience like this.
