John Ronald Tolkien was born in Bloemfontein,
South Africa, on 3rd January 1892. Both of his parents came from England
and were staying in South Africa on buisness. One day Johns parents went
back to Enland for a short visit. During that time in 1896 on the fifteenth
of January, his father died. After his father died his mother, brother
and him went to the U.K., West Midlands. In 1904 his mother was diagnosed
with diabeeties which was uncurable at the time. She died shortly after
on october 15 1904. Father Francis Morgan took them as orphans for a short
while until they went to live with there aunt Beatrice Suffield, that didn't
work so they went to live with a Mrs Faulkner. Even at his young age he
was showing people his remarkable smarts in english. He learned Latin and
greek with ease which was consitered a hard language to learn. He went
to Oxford college in 1911 when he was 21. He didn't achieve his first class
degree though at that time. In 1915 he earned his first class degree in
June. Tolkien met a woman by the name of Edeth. They got maried in Warwick
on the 22 of March in1916. He eventually went into active duty on the westward
front. After 4 months in the trenches he got a sickness called " trench
feaver" an infection common in the horrible conditions of the trenches.
Tolkiens only daughter was born in 1929 her name was Priscilla. Tolkien
retired in 1969. On November 22, 1971 Edith died. John Ronald Ruel Tolkiend
died in September 2, 1973. John and Edith were buried together in a single
grave in the catholic section of Wolvercote cemetery in the suburbs of
Oxford.
