No, not a demon from heck. Anime shows typically use demon as a substitute for "monster" or any other supernatural being. Think about it. "I want to use this jewel to become all monster" sounds really stupid. "I want to use this jewel to become all demon" sounds much better, and it has a cooler connotation than "monster."
