Two of my life's most memorable moments
 

    I am going to tell you about two of my life's most memorable moments. They are very important to me. the two titles of my moments are:  Roman and Hawaiian beach. I hope that you enjoy my essays as much as I do!
   Roman
    It was summer of 1998, i was 8 yeas old and I loved horses. I was looking forward to this trip for the whole school year! It was the trip of a life time to me. I had never been out of  san luis obispo since I was 4 so it was quite exciting. We were going to my great uncle max's ranch. He had cows, pigs, and a lot of horses. I had a small cassette player and two cassettes, Brittany spears and Brandy, I had to listen to that the whole 8 hour drive to New Mexico. It was hot and boring the whole drive up there because my batteries died half way there so I had to listen to what my  mom listened to on the radio country mostly. " I hope this doesn't last much longer!" I thought, " oh my gosh, a cow or bull skull! gross I hate seeing dead animals!" Even though I've seen plenty in my life. well we stooped at a little river/lake thing that had a swing to go into the water with. We stayed there for a while. It was so much fun! there was a little slide imbedded in the rocks that had water running down it.  I did that  a couple times. We left that and we headed back to the road to New Mexico. We got there about dinner time so we had dinner with them and then we checked into our hotel. The next day is when we got to ride the horses and the atvs. I  finally got my chance to ride one of the horses, I got to ride Roman he was one of the fastest horses! I had to take two women , a little large, up to the main house. After we got up there they got off. " come on roman we need to get you some water." he wouldn't move "i said come on Roman you need to get water!." he headed forward about 6 ft then he started swaying back and forth he did that over and over again. " HELP! Aunt Linna, Aunt Lisa, Mom some one, HELP I'm going to fall off the horse!" my Aunt Lisa came running as fast as the can to come and help me off the horse. " Hold on! I'm gonna get you down." she said " ok but hurry"  so I ended up safe and sound but Roman on the other hand almost passed out because the thing on his neck was too tight. I ended up not riding any of the horses ever again during the rest of the reunion.
Hawaiian Beaches
      It was the first time I had ever been somewhere in a plane that I can remember. I was so scared to leave home.  Well as soon as I thought about it I was actually going home! I was born and raised in hawaii till I was four years old. My Hawaiian name is Napuamoani  (nah-poo-uh-moe-ah-ni).  I was excited and scared at the same time!  I hadn't seen my dad in three years! I couldn't wait to see him. I also couldn't wait to take pictures in and out of the water. the plain ride over there was okay we were treated great because we were alone with no adult with us so we got to get off the plane first and we got first choice on the food and the drinks. We took two plains the first time we got off we went to Maui and then we took a half hour flight to the  big island (Kona, Hawaii). my dad lives in Kawihai and so I was not familiar with my surroundings. I didn't even recognize my dad he had really long hair! so I had to find my sister. we had a lot of fun trying to find our luggage. we got everything then we went to Kawihai and we unpacked and we had a long night trying to sleep on a wooden couch! The next couple weeks passed and we came to the day when we had to go home. We got to the airport a little late so the desk person gave someone else our seat on the plane. She told us that the next time a plane would come to go to Las Angeles was at 4:00 am so we said we would take that one. We had to do something while we wait so my dad said that we would go to black sands beach. so we get there at 3:30 and we get a bite to eat then we headed into the water. The waves were so small but they got bigger and bigger as the time went by so by  the time it was 6:00 the waves were huge. "oh my gosh that wave is huge!" said my little brother ,Josh , " I'm going to get there before you and that is MY wave I am going to body surf that one all the way in!" I yelled to Josh. Josh was already out in the water. the water was sucked up off the beach and the wave was about 15 ft high from the front. He was in about 3'4 feet deep when....... BANG ........ Josh had just been hit with the biggest wave I had seen in a long time. I went out to see if he was okay and then i got smashed with a huge wave! I crashed into rocks and I hit my head really hard in the sand I also got sand in my eyes! I had to run to the drinking fountain and I opened my eyes in the water to rinse the sand out of my eyes. That happened a lot that night. When it got dark there was a beautiful sunset. Then we had dinner and we went to the airport and waited for my airplane to come. I had a lot of fun  in Hawaii and I wish I could go back there some day!
