Part I

On an 8.5” x 11” sheet of unlined white paper, illustrate each of the first ten amendments.  You may use stickers, magazine pictures, watercolor, colored pencils, crayons, Internet pictures and symbols, etc.  You may also use a combination of any of the above.  Your illustrations should be in color.  Please fit all ten illustrations on one side of the white paper.  Use the entire sheet.  You will be graded on creativity, presentation, neatness as well as for content.  Be sure to label each amendment. Each amendment illustration is worth 7 points for a total of 70 points.

Part II

Choose five of the ten Bill of Rights amendments.  Find a newspaper or Internet news article that encompasses each amendment for which you have chosen.  Read the article and in YOUR OWN WORDS, summarize it and explain WHY it is an example of the amendment.  The first paragraph summarizes the article.  The second paragraph explains why it is an example of the amendment. Please use introductory sentences, well formulated sentences and excellent grammar.  You must have the appropriate heading (see below for example).  All must be typed using 12 size font.  You will be graded on the quality of the summary and the explanation.  Please cut out the article and tape or staple it to 8.5” x 11” paper.  Each amendment is worth 10 points for a total of 50 points.  You can only use one amendment once.
